In the 80s and 90s, PKNK was actively involved in this sector through the opening of new areas such as Bandar Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bandar Darulaman, Kulim, Sungai Petani, Kuala Muda and Desert. Through the housing and shop houses project, PKNK has built 1,075 units of residential houses including in Kulim PKNK Park, Alor Setar, Bakar Arang, Tikam Batu and also built 178 units of shop houses. The involvement of PKNK in the property sector is through the joint privatization project of Eupe Kemajuan Sdn. Bhd, which is through the construction of 3,480 units of residential and shop houses in Taman Ria, 6,473 units of houses in Taman Ria Jaya and 545 units of houses in Persiaran Cinta Sayang, Sungai Petani. Some other companies such as Desani Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., Azham Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Khasada Sdn. Bhd. were also involved in the privatization project by build 1,436 units of residential houses.
Starting in 2000, PKNK has opened a new area for residential purposes which are 2,421.65 acres of Ladang Pinang Tunggal, Sungai Petani and 5,670.81 acres of Ladang Sungai Ular, Kulim. Currently, PKNK has also rebuilt the long-standing PKNK shophouses for new buildings in accordance with current conditions such as UKIR Mall, UKIR Square and Shop Houses in Kota Sarang Semut.
